Happy Holidays from Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad
From all of us at Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad — Jim, Kevin, Patrick, and every member of our crew — we wish you and your family a safe and joyful holiday season. We are honored to serve this community and grateful for your continued support.
Our crews will be on duty through every holiday, as they are every day of the year. If you need us, we’ll be there.
Winter Safety Tips from Our Paramedics
Winter brings specific risks our paramedics see regularly. A few reminders:
- Carbon monoxide: Never run a generator, grill, or gas appliance indoors. CO is odorless and kills quickly. Make sure your CO detector is working.
- Hypothermia: Even mild temperatures combined with wind and wet clothing can cause hypothermia. Dress in layers and get out of wet clothing quickly.
- Falls: Ice and snow make falls more likely. Wear appropriate footwear and take your time on stairs and walkways.
- Heart attacks: Snow shoveling is a leading trigger. Take breaks, don’t overexert, and know the signs of a heart attack. If in doubt, call 9-1-1.
Year-End Giving

The squad's paramedic fly car, now with proper lettering.
December 31 is the deadline for tax-deductible charitable contributions for 2025. If you’ve been meaning to support Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad this year, there’s still time. All gifts are fully tax-deductible. You can donate online, by check, or by phone. Visit our Donate page for details.
Ambulance Campaign Update

Some of the 30+ full- and part-time members of our team.
Our ambulance capital campaign is making progress. We’ve ordered two new Braun Type 1 4x4 ambulances with expected delivery in November 2026 and February 2027. Thank you to everyone who has contributed. We still have ground to cover to reach our $1.1 million goal — your support makes a real difference.
Community Connections
This time of year, we’re especially mindful of neighbors who may be isolated during the holidays. If you know someone elderly or living alone in South County, please check in on them. And remember — our File of Life program is a simple, free way to make sure first responders have the information they need if there’s an emergency.
Thank You

Ahh, to be a kid again. Now we're all grown up and ambulance-sized.

Our ambulances on order will be brand new.

How does a paramedic fit in there?

We love the ambulance train car!

Another classic.
We are a small organization doing important work for a large community. None of it is possible without the support of our towns, our donors, and our neighbors. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us this year. We look forward to serving you in 2026.
Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We rely on community donations to keep our ambulances on the road and our crews ready. Every gift makes a difference.
