The Heartsaver® First Aid course trains participants in first aid basics for the most common emergencies — including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform life-saving skills. The course reflects current science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
Who should take this course?
The Heartsaver First Aid course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. It is ideal for workplaces, schools, community organizations, and anyone who wants to be prepared.
What does this course cover?
- First aid basics and when to call 9-1-1
- Medical emergencies (heart attack, stroke, diabetic emergencies)
- Injury emergencies (bleeding, burns, fractures)
- Environmental emergencies (heat stroke, hypothermia)
- Preventing illness and injury
Course completion card
Upon successful completion, participants receive an AHA Heartsaver First Aid Course Completion Card valid for two years.
