Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad offers initial Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification courses. Our program provides the hands-on training and classroom instruction needed to pass the National Registry EMT examination and begin your career in emergency medical services.

EMT training is also the first step toward a career with Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad. We actively recruit certified EMTs and encourage course graduates to apply to join our team.

What to expect

Massachusetts EMT-Basic certification requires approximately 150–180 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical training. Our course follows the National EMS Education Standards and must be completed at a DPH-accredited institution. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to sit for the NREMT cognitive exam and Massachusetts psychomotor exam. Both must be passed to earn state certification.
